Frick Collection
87,000 square feet (60,000 square feet renovated space with 27,000 square feet addition)
The Frick Collection is one of New York City’s most prestigious art museums, known for its must-see collection of European paintings, decorative arts, and sculpture. It is housed in the former home of industrialist and passionate art collector Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919) who left his mansion and the collection to the public as a museum.
Unlike many large museums, the Frick Collection is an intimate environment with its paintings arranged in rooms as they might be in a home. There are no labels on the walls—just a guide booklet—honoring Frick’s desire for a refined, uncluttered aesthetic experience.
The Frick Collection renovation nearly doubles its exhibition space and opens the once-private upstairs rooms to the public for the first time. The reimagined layout blends historic intimacy with expansive new galleries, creating a richer and more immersive way to experience the museum’s world-class art.
Accurise Consulting was brought on to the Frick Collection project to help the subcontractor finish the restoration and expansion of this prominent museum on time. Accurise created a detailed, room-by-room schedule, which helped coordinate the remaining work of the trades.
