Northwell Health significantly expanded its laboratory capabilities with two state-of-the-art core testing facilities in New York, which has positioned Northwell Health Labs as the largest health system-based integrated laboratory network in the Northeast, processing over 30 million tests each year.
The first, a 101,000-square-foot lab within the Center for Advanced Medicine in Lake Success, features North America's largest automated testing line, capable of processing up to 55 million tests annually. The second, a 36,000-square-foot facility on Little Neck Parkway in Queens, primarily focuses on microbiology and molecular diagnostics, enhancing service efficiency through advanced robotic systems. Accurise’s Vice President, Development, Chris Giese while working as the assistant Vice President for facilities and development at Northwell Health managed the entire preconstruction and development and onset of construction for the Northwell Health Core Laboratory Testing Facilities at Center for Advance Medicine (CFAM) and stand-alone facility in Little Neck, Queens, New York. The project included and extensive remedial action work plan due to extensive subsurface contamination. The project also required in depth coordination with New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, a partner in the project. The project had a tight schedule control due to the extensive contamination and regulatory agencies. Managing the two sites separately required diligent schedule coordination.
